Where Have You Been, Keith?

Good question, right? How can a retired guy, wintering in Texas, with no real job, not have time to write an article for The Lime Springs Page every day or two or three?

Believe it or not, I do keep busy down here. Here are some of the things which occupy my time or make it tough to write articles:

  • I'm slow, so everything I do accomplish takes a long time.
  • Seldomly do I get news from LS which is fit to print.
  • I try to play poker one, two, or three times each week.
  • Each day, I shoot a couple of tables of pool balls as practice. I need it!
  • Each Tuesday, I moderate a "computer help session" which has five to ten participants.
  • I provide help to all comers with their computer problems.
  • Each Thursday evening, we attend the potluck dinner at the park.
  • Each Sunday morning we go to church and each Sunday evening we have ice cream at the clubhouse.
  • Every other week or so, we go to Corpus Christi for big-city shopping.
  • I feel duty-bound to introduce myself to those new to the park. This is a friendly park!
  • I run a blog related to the park. You can see it here: http://35rv.us.
  • We need to go shopping for groceries at least once each week. That's either at Wal*Mart or H.E.B., which is the Texas version of HyVee.
  • Fix things on the trailer which need fixing.
  • Tend to my little business of selling RV Awning Travel Locks, which includes shipping orders all over the country.
  • Keep in touch with friends and relatives via email or phone via Skype, a "telephone service" using my computer.
  • Monday I'll teach a class on the use of the program Picasa, a photo management system.
  • And I'll be directing our version of the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater: Pasta, Passion & Pistals. (Guess where that idea came from!)
  • Working with Jill to come up with a way to make reservations for the Lime Springs Community Center on limesprings.com.
  • Providing a little bit of help to Marcie for the Lime Springs Herald, on-line version.
Other than that, there's not much going on.
It's almost unbelievable, but our visit here is now one-third over! Where does the time go?
