Excuses, Again!

I know that there are many/several/a few folks who check The Lime Springs Page more-or-less regularly to see what news there might be of their Lime Springs friends. Over the last few weeks, I'm afraid that I've disappointed them.

It isn't that there has been nothing at all to report, but more that I have been busy. Doing what, you might ask? Fair enough.

Do you recall that last Fall the UMW of Lime Springs put on a murder mystery dinner theater at the Community Center? By all reports, it was a resounding success, with a great time had by all who participated or attended. I thought the same play might be a good event for our park, so I did the right thing: called Annette for advice! (Annette directed the production in Lime Springs.)

Anyway, to shorten the story, with her encouragement I suggested to our mover-and-shaker lady when it comes to social event that we produce the play. It was accepted and—surprise! surprise!—I ended up directing it. That took about two weeks of my time, especially since the Iowa sales tax had to be completed at the same time.

As in Lime Springs, a great time was had by all. We had some absolutely great actors, with my favorite probably being Bo Jalais, far right, the Frenchman who kept the vineyards. He was quick of wit and had a bottle of his product and a half-full glass of wine at the ready every moment!

The day after the play, Pat took a trip—this time over a sprinkler head which stuck up about 2 inches above the surface. She took a slight shortcut at the sidewalk corner on the way into church and that's all it took. Result: a break in her wrist (right, of course), resulting in a long-arm cast for three weeks, and two broken toes.

Half of you already know how much work it is to fix meals, wash dishes, make the bed, wash the clothes, etc. Now I know, too!

So there, my friends, are two good reasons you've not heard from me recently.
