Junior Community Club

Community Club leaders formed a Jr. Community Club in 2003! This is for interested citizens in 3rd to 12th grades. Purposes of the club include:

  • Instill pride in their community
  • Provide opportunities for volunteer service
  • Provide encouragement for members to become regular members later

The clubs Flag Project, with nearly 100 subscribers, started in 2004 will continue. Their new project for 2005, which continues, is described below.

Recycling Cans and Plastic Bottles
The Junior members collect aluminum cans and plastic bottles on which deposits have been paid. These items can be placed in the wire "cage" located in the center of town—where the Corner Cafe used to stand.

This project will provide a way for residents to avoid the hassle of returning their containers to the store and at the same time make a contribution (the value of the deposit) to the Junior Community Club.
